I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around 2009. How did that happen? Madness. But, Happy New Year, anyway. Since we’re taking down our decorations today, I wanted to snap a couple quick pictures of some decorations.
My new ornament this year, which I love…
And our new stockings that are so totally me. I love blue and green decorations. Thank you, Target!
So, resolutions. Last night, we were all sitting around talking about resolutions trying to decide if it was better to make attainable ones (like, this year I resolve to gain ten pounds!) or ones that actually stretch us. Because, if you make attainable ones and actually reach them, you feel pretty sweet. But, if you make hard ones, it’s always a bit depressing to realize that you have failed, once again. Every year I make the same resolutions… get out of debt, get into shape, stop yelling at my kids. Clearly, I’m making amazing progress on those goals.
This year, my biggest goal is to sell this house. And buy Pemberley. We will discuss Pemberley later… hopefully when I move into it. But, for now, Pemberley is my dream house that is on the market taunting me with it’s perfection. “Oooh, Mary… I bet you want to live here.” “Oooh, Mary… I hope nobody buys me before you do.” “Mary, I bet you can’t stop decorating me in your mind late at night when you really should be sleeping.” Stupid house. Why must you torment me?!
Also, since I’m packing around way more baby weight that I am willing to admit to, I should probably… you know… stop sitting on the couch so much. Exercise would be a very good idea. Also, Baby is 7 months old. It’s time to stop eating every two hours like I did when I was pregnant.
I’m also going to make a goal to hire a cleaning lady. If I don’t succeed in any of the others, I really hope I can achieve that one.
