Kitty has been cracking me up lately. She has discovered her tongue and loves to stick it out all the time. She has also learned to pull herself up and is constantly bum-scooting (she still doesn’t crawl) herself up next to tables, chairs, or couches and pulling herself into a standing position.
Lizzy and The Boy think our laundry basket is an excellent cage for Kitty. About a month ago, she would sit contentedly for long stretches inside this basket. Seriously… She would just sit in there and watch us through the slats. It was weird. But, now she pulls herself up and tips the basket over. No more Basket-Baby.Since becoming more mobile, she has started protesting during nap-time. Now instead of rolling over and going to sleep, she stands up and scoots around her crib. I frequently hear her (over the baby monitor) shaking the bars which without fail is followed by a THUNK and a scream when she loses her balance and topples over.
This week is conference week at school so my two oldest have half days. I asked them if I could take their picture and they both said “No way.” Then I asked if I could take their picture with Kitty, and they were so excited I couldn’t get my camera fast enough.
Kitty’s other achievement that causes us hours of enjoyment is that she has learned to play “SO BIG!” However, I started teaching her the game during lunch and I think I confused her a bit. In between bites of food I would ask, “How big is baby?” Then I would raise her hands over her head and say, “SOOOO BIG!” Now every time we scoop something into her mouth, she raises her hands over her head.
It’s cute though. Here she is showing me how big she is:
She looks like a cat about to pounce. Totally adorable, my little Kitty.
