It’s Kitty’s Birthday!
And exciting news! Kitty can now hold her own bottle. I credit her cousin Super Chunk with this exciting development because while he was here he would flaunt his bottle holding skills, and I think she became a little self conscious about her floppy-armed ways.
Kitty has about 5 or 6 “words” so far. Some of them aren’t really proper words, but she says them on command so I’m counting them. What are you gonna do about it??
- “Uh-oh!” Gets the most mileage. Most frequently heard after she purposely throws something down.
- “Dada” Every morning we have a conversation where I say, “Kitty, say MAMA.” (Her:) “Dada.” (Me:) “No… MAMA.” (Her:) “Dada.” And every time Mr. Darcy comes home from work she excitedly exclaims, “DADA!” (Although, she calls herself Dada too, so we’re not really certain what she thinks it means.)
- “OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…” She sings this every time SpongeBob comes on… You know, when the Captain says, “Are ya ready kids?” (Aye-Aye, Cap’n!) “I can’t hear you!” (Aye-Aye, Cap’n!) “Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?!” Anyway, she sings along to the “Ohhhhhh!” Shut up, my kids do not watch too much TV.
- “Go-go” (No-No-No.) said while shaking her finger at me.
I wanted to get some One Year Old pictures of Kitty today, so let me impress you with their terribleness:
I attempted a sibling shot.
But things went downhill fast. Notice the bored/miserable expressions on the older three’s faces. And Kitty is channeling an angry pirate. Arrrrrrrr…
So, I gave up and let them act like monkeys.
Notice how Kitty even pitched in with a Scary Face. She fits right in.
Time for the Cake Smash: (Warning… grossness to follow.)
“La la la… I’m just rubbing this frosting into my scalp…”
Flirting with the relatives… Where does she think we live? Kentucky?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KITTY! We’re allsortsa smitten with you.
