We have a little room upstairs that was called “the sewing room” by the previous owners. I don’t know how much sewing could take place in a room that size… it’s only 4.5 x 5.5 feet. I guess seamstresses in the 1930’s were not claustrophobic. There is a drop-down ironing board in the wall, which is cute and would be functional… if I ever ironed anything.
So, we turned it into a baby-sized play room for all the oversized toys we couldn’t find a spot for:
My fantasy is to someday turn this into a very small upstairs laundry room. The kids’ bathroom is next door, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to bring the plumbing into this room. And it might just be big enough for a stackable laundry unit. I don’t know for sure… I haven’t fully investigated this idea. But it is a lovely thought, isn’t it? A laundry room on each level of my house?! Magical.
