Okay, I know what you are thinking… “Mary, why are you starting a new project when you have 3 other rooms that still need to be completed?” Well, I’ll tell you.
(She’s going to tell,
She’s going to tell,
She’s going to tell,
She’s going to tell…)
Did that moment from Monty Python and The Holy Grail pop into anybody else’s head just then? No? Just me? Shame on all of you.
I am finishing the girls’ room this month. That is the goal anyway. I just need to throw together a couple little projects (they seem little on paper, anyway) to finish their room off. So, that’s one room out of the way.
And I intend to finish scraping the wallpaper in my closet/dressing room during the winter break, as well. I figure I will have lots of cheap laborers at my disposal and I may as well take advantage of them. And once the paper is down, I’m ignoring that room for awhile longer.
And finally, the master bedroom project that stalled so many months ago isn’t going anywhere soon. Because… well, stuff costs money. Refinishing floors doesn’t take a ton of money if you do it yourself, but it takes time. And I’m tired and lazy. A new bed = money. New furnishings = money. Art work and new tile for the fireplace and maybe wallpaper for an accent wall = money money money. Ignoring is the only solution.
BUT, the nursery is just a tiny room. Do you remember? I’ll show you it in its current pathetic state:
More wallpaper that I flirted with removing, and then decided I wasn’t that interested in after all. And just enough room for a bed and some toys. I want to replace the light fixture (not shown, but it is one of those boob lights if you know what I mean, and I think you do) with a pretty little chandelier.
The shutters need to come down. Some girly drapes will be much better in here.
Here’s the other wall of closets.
And I want to rip up the gross carpet. So, once the painted wallpaper, the carpet, and the shutters are gone, all I have to do is thrown around a little paint and this room will be darling. Oh, and new bedding, lighting, and artwork. And I want a comfy rocking chair in the corner. And a new rug on the floor. And maybe a pretty mobile?? And a mural! And some funky wallpaper! And a flatscreen TV. Maybe a water feature??
Just kiddin’. I’m envisioning a clean, bright, simple girly room. Hopefully completed sometime before April.
