Just what is going on here you might ask?
A baby Admiral Ackbar freaking out a baby Princess Leia?
“Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi. My mom is like, the biggest dork on the planet.”
The time has come to start moving little Lydia out of my bedroom (and my bed in particular) and into her own. She used to wake up every three hours to eat and now she is waking up each hour. And occasionally deciding to stay awake kicking and grunting in bed for an hour at 4 a.m. This is unsatisfactory. No me gusta. That is all the Spanish I remember from high school.
Another problem is that when she is actually sleeping, her favorite position is to cram her face right into my armpit. That can’t be pleasant. I’m worried that she might not have a properly developed sense of smell. I will try to scoot away from her… inching slowly as to not alert her to the change, but then she starts rooting and wriggling back into my armpit.
That just reminded me that my older kids favorite word is armpit. They think it is the funniest word in the history of communication. Seriously, I’m thinking about charging them a quarter each time they say it because I’m so sick of conversations that go like this:
Me: What should we have for dinner?
The Boy: ARMPIT!
The kids as a collective whole: cackling their heads off ?????
Later in the day:
Me: It is time to clean up your rooms.
My kids are weird. (Says the lady who just dressed her younglings up in Star Wars garb. And then said “younglings”. Somebody punch me.)
So, here’s what I’ve been up to. First, I painted the crib. Then I started moving The Boy out of his Star Wars room and into the teeny tiny closet/bedroom that Kitty was sleeping in. And moved the two little girls into his Star Wars room.
Here’s the progress so far.
We need to finish moving all the Star Warsy stuff out of this room and into The Boy’s new room/closet. I need to paint Lydia’s dresser that I bought off craigslist like, 7 months ago that has been sitting in my garage ever since. I need to paint the walls, hang new drapes, and basically girl this place back up.
Although, my littles seem to really like the Star Wars theme that is going on.
I asked Kitty what color I should paint the room and she said, “Dark blue.”
And Lydia will sit in her crib and stare at the Star Wars art over her head for… minutes… before she realizes that I’m not holding her.
