I’ve been tinkering with my mantle ever since I put my Emma Litograph up there. Remember how the aqua mason jars didn’t work? I would link it but again, computer is going bananas. I’m just going to type as fast as I can and hold my breath that it posts. So, if I have a million typos, just pretend not to notice. Deal?
ANYWAY, my Paula was here, my darling sister who I love and apparently I am exactly like because we would say the EXACT SAME THING at the EXACT SAME TIME multiple times a day. It was spooky. And AWESOME. Anyway, I made her help me decorate this mantle because, as I said eleventy billion times while shopping with her, “I DON’T KNOW WHAT I AM DOING WHEN IT COMES TO DECORATING MANTLES!!!”. She told me eleventy billion times to shut up already.
So, that is to say, if you like this, ’tis all thanks to Paula. And if you hate it, don’t blame me! She made me do it! I don’t know what I’m doing here, people!
I got some cheap candlesticks on amazon. They were like $30 or something. Truth be told, I’m borderline on the candlesticks. They are a tiny bit too ornate for my tastes, but again… cheap. So there’s that.
Then the other side of the mantle became accidentally bird themed… Just because that was the stuff I/we liked and was also on super clearance, so the rest of this all came to about $30-something as well. Oh, the owl is new. Paula hasn’t approved the owl. What do you think, P12? Keep or toss?
Also, in other living room developments, I finally ordered a matching slipper chair for the one I bought over 2 years ago (from Target, natch). So, that’s exciting for me. Probably not you, though. And I hung a big giant clock that had been sitting on the living room floor for the last 8 months since this room was painted. Go me! I would post a picture of that but I think this post is about to self destruct. Scroll back up to the top and look above the piano and you will see the giant clock that I only recently hung up.
Anyway, that is the living room as it exists today. One of these days I will figure out a drapery solution. But, drapes ain’t cheap and I have a lot of TALL windows in this room. So, it might not happen for another 2 years.
