But the point is, my floor was clean for 5 minutes today. Five glorious minutes.
And this afternoon after tucking Kitty and Lydia in bed, I got to take a nap as well. It was possibly the best afternoon of my entire life. The three of us slept quietly for a couple hours while downstairs the big kids played minecraft. They are obsessed with minecraft. I think every child in the United States might be.
Then we ate gluten free pancakes for dinner out on the deck so that my still-sorta-clean kitchen floor remained semi-clean for just a little longer.
Tomorrow we are going on a hike. Only two more days of spring break. Insert picture of me sobbing here. Then we are back to the grindstone for 48 more school days. Do I need to mention how anxious I am for summer vacation? Probably not.
And once school is out, we are rearranging bedrooms once again. Bennet is growing out of his tiny bedroom, and Lydia is growing out of our master closet. Since we won’t need the school room/home office once homeschool is over as much as we need another bedroom, Lizzy gets to move in and make it her new bedroom. Which means Bennet moves back into his old bedroom, which means Lydia moves into his tiny closet/bedroom. WHICH MEANS I have a whole bunch of painting and projects waiting for me… I CANNOT WAIT.
I find myself designing their new rooms in my head when I should be cleaning or doing laundry. Even Jane wants her purple room painted a different color, which I might have resisted until she told me she wanted it painted turquoise. And really, how could I say no to that?! Not possible.
